The grade seven program continues the communicative-experiential approach to learning French that is currently being used at the elementary level. The emphasis remains on oral ability, although written skills take on more importance at this level. Oral and written skills are reinforced through thematic units, using workbook assignments, skits, dialogues and general conversational work. The base text, Entre Amis, has a companion workbook that students use extensively. Most of the exercises are intended to be done as communicative activities, where the students work in partners or in groups. Themes covered: school, daily routines, holidays, using the phone, food,field trip to local cafe, weekends and television. Prerequisites: Elementary level French.
